The group's principal activities are to produce and market power and fuel and provide broadband communication services. The group operates through three business units: integrated energy, electric utility and communications. The integrated energy unit produces and markets power and fuel in a number of markets, with a strong emphasis on the western United States. Electric utility serves approximately 61,000 customers in South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. The communications unit offers state-of-the-art broadband communication services to residential and business customers in rapid city and the northern black hills region of South Dakota. On 10-Mar-2003, the group acquired mallon resources corporation.
